The local community in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, is celebrating its Pride Week activities this week, and the employees at our head office are enthusiastic about showing their support.

“At Fortis, we are proud of our people. Everyone brings a diverse perspective and set of skills to our workplace, and we appreciate you for being you,” says Nora Duke, Executive Vice President, Sustainability and Chief Human Resource Officer, Fortis. “We feel that even the smallest gestures, like wearing rainbow colours, can demonstrate meaningful progress in advancing inclusion and diversity in our community."

Pride week is a time to celebrate our shared humanity. By wearing Pride colours we are demonstrating solidarity, celebrating the LGBT+ community and the achievements gained over time. Visibility leads to acceptance, understanding and support.

At Fortis, we aspire to create a workplace where all feel empowered to bring their authentic selves to work. Enjoy the Pride celebrations in your community.
