The Company was pleased to recently announce the appointment of three new President and CEOs in Eastern Canada and the Caribbean.

Ruth Forbes, President and CEO, FortisTCI
Ruth joined FortisTCI in 2006, most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer, where she oversaw the finance, customer service, communications and human resources functions. She has a Diploma in Business Administration (Honours) from University of Technology, Kingston, Jamaica, and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Barry University, Florida. She is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).

Upon Ruth’s appointment, Barry Perry, President and CEO of Fortis Inc., said: “Ruth’s insights and vision for the company and its customers are admirable and I am confident that she will continue to advance FortisTCI as an innovative and sustainable energy leader in the Caribbean.” 

Jason Roberts, President and CEO, Maritime Electric
Jason brings over 20 years’ experience at Maritime Electric and was the Vice President, Finance, Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary since 2017. He has served in senior leadership roles in the Company in regulatory affairs, finance and human resources. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

"Jason’s financial and regulatory experience, combined with his understanding of the important role which Maritime Electric plays in Prince Edward Island, makes him well-suited to lead the utility as we work toward a cleaner energy future for Islanders and all those we serve throughout North America,” said Perry.



Gary Murray, President and CEO, Newfoundland Power
Gary began his career with Newfoundland Power in 2002 and previously held the position of Vice President, Customer Operations. He has extensive engineering and utility experience within North America. Gary holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland. He has also completed the Finance for Senior Executives Program at Harvard Business School.

“Gary is an accomplished engineer who is steeped in operational excellence. His relationship-building and collaborative style will serve him well as he leads the Newfoundland Power team,” said Perry.
